Josipa is an emerging visual artist; her work features dramatic and bold portraits of women. Her figurative works are inspired by narratives and each piece intends to capture a fleeting and emotional moment in time of the subjects life. Josipa is also inpsired by themes relating to culture, land, femininity, power, ethnicity and mythology.

 

Josipa mostly works with oil pastel on black paper. Her work is inpired by the art created by Max Beckmann, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Gustav Klimt, Alexej von Jawlensky, Otto Dix, George Tappert, Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, Toulouse Lautrec and Francis Bacon.
