MY CULTURAL LEADERSHIP MANIFESTO

I believe in the power of performance to expose, dismantle, and rebuild.

To unsettle what we’ve inherited and imagine what we haven’t yet made room for.

To ask better questions, and to ask them louder through music, through laughter, through story.

I am a multidisciplinary artist, theatre-maker, and cultural leader who creates at the intersection of imagination and justice.

My work is rooted in equity, curiosity, and collaboration.

I centre the voices of women, migrants, and working-class communities not as an afterthought, but as the creative core.

I believe art should be unapologetically political and emotionally resonant.

It should speak to those who’ve been excluded, erased, or misrepresented.

It should provoke, move, and bring people closer to themselves and each other.

I lead by making. I lead by listening.

I lead by asking: Can you imagine?

I have worked across stages and policy tables, rehearsal rooms and government departments, spreadsheets and script pages.

I have delivered stories, strategies, and systems.

My leadership is not about gatekeeping. It’s about gate-opening.

Not just making space at the table but building new tables altogether.

Cultural leadership is not a title.

It’s a practice of care, of courage, of deep accountability.

It means holding complexity. Working across disciplines.

And never losing sight of the communities we serve.

I believe in slow, intentional creativity.

In creative ecosystems that are sustainable, not extractive.

In artistic risk backed by structural care.

And in leadership that is visionary, values-driven, and collective.

I stand for bold, inclusive, and transformative arts practice.

And I will keep building, imagining, and collaborating until the stories we tell reflect the fullness of who we are.
